Biennial Conference '07

COCAs 7th Biennial Conference
By John Jannese Chief Executive Officer, COCA

“What a wonderful long weekend, this conference certainly lived up to our claims and commitment to bring Australia world leaders in healthcare” said COCA Chief Executive Officer Mr John Jannese.

COCA was privileged to welcome conference keynote speaker USA based Dr Craig Liebenson DC to our shores to conduct a one day practical workshop, as well as speaking at the conference.

Delegates to the conference learnt the latest rehabilitation strategies to accelerate patient recovery at a one-day workshop presented by Dr Liebenson. In addition, delegates learned how to apply important cognitive behavioural strategies in their practices, implementation of effective self management techniques and the ‘multi-modal management approach’ to clinical situations.

Surprise guest speaker at the conference was Dr Robin McKenzie, from the world renown McKenzie Institute International, based in New Zealand. The conference was supported by sessions with psychologist Kaye Frankcom, osteopath Melainie Cameron, chiropractor Henry Pollard and associate professor of physiotherapy Chris Maher.

Thanks also must go to session moderators and panel participants Dr John Reggars, Dr Peter Tuchin, Dr Jo-Anne Maire, Professor Rodney Bonello, Dr Andrew Vitiello, and Dr Bruce Walker for his research poster sessional. Thanks also go to Convenor Dr Peter Werth for all his work engaging speakers and for putting together a conference with such thoughtful and interesting topics, to keep the interest of all delegates.
