Executive Director’s Report

John Jannese

This year has already been one of spectacular achievement for COCA and its membership. The front page lead article in this issue of COCA News details the evolution of our flagship journal Australasian Chiropractic & Osteopathy, to an international journal renamed, Chiropractic & Osteopathy.

I would like to acknowledge the contributions of our life members Dr Bruce Walker and Dr Simon French, together with Dr Melainie Cameron for their work in advancing the credentials of our journal, in order to secure publication internationally by the world renown BioMed Central U.K.

COCA membership - Certified Practising Member (CPM)
By now members should have received a personalised letter, application form & guidelines for CPM - Certified Practising Member.

CPM is COCA’s highest level of membership. All CPM’s will receive a new membership certificate – acknowledging your new status.

For most members the application process is simple. If you total 200 points or more of continuing education, you will only be required to complete the first page of the CPM application form and sign the declaration on the last page.

COCA Membership Directory - a new member service
This year COCA will be compiling its first annual COCA Membership Directory.

In the coming months, each member will be asked to indicate whether they wish to be included in the directory, and if so, your practice details on a standard pro-forma.

COCA Practice Accreditation Program
Consider the business opportunities for your practice, by undertaking the COCA practice accreditation program;

  • By marketing your accreditation to the general public, your existing patients, potential patients and even to your colleagues – because, your practice embraces and meets the highest standards achievable within the profession
  • You will receive, shop front practice decals and a display poster for your waiting rooms, and
  • You will also receive, prominence in the (soon to be compiled) COCA Membership Directory.

An application form for COCA Practice Accreditation is contained elsewhere in this issue.
