Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group - Australian Satellite established
By Simon French BAppSc(Chiro), MPH.

The Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group is delighted to announce the establishment of a Satellite branch in Australia. Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group editor, Rachelle Buchbinder, will lead the satellite which will be based at Monash Department of Clinical Epidemiology at Cabrini Hospital, Melbourne. This Department is affiliated with the Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. The satellite was formally launched during the Cochrane Colloquium in Melbourne in October.

The Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group is well-represented by Australian authors and peer reviewers. The aim of the Australian Satellite is to increase capacity within the Australian musculoskeletal community to prepare and maintain Cochrane reviews through training events and mentoring of individual review authors. The Satellite will support the Cochrane Musculoskeletal Group editorial base in Ottawa in the production and updating of Cochrane reviews and facilitate the dissemination of the results of relevant Cochrane reviews to clinicians, consumers and policy makers in the Australian musculoskeletal community.

If you are interested in being involved in the production of Cochrane reviews in musculoskeletal conditions visit the Musculoskeletal Group web site for more information: http://www.cochranemsk.org/cmsg/
