COCA Seminars 2002
Adelaide Seminar
September 14th 2002
It is with great pleasure that for the September Adelaide seminar COCA presents Mr Orso Osti.
Orso Osti is well known to many COCA Seminar attendees, particularly in South Australia where he practises. His insightful views on managing back pain have been very well received previously and this time we are delighted that he has agreed to present his thoughts on occupational back pain and facet joint pain, both of which will be of great interest to chiropractors and osteopaths.
We are also very pleased to be able to have Dr Henry Pollard, one of the most qualified sports chiropractors in Australia, to speak on the management of foot and ankle conditions. Henry is an excellent speaker and extremely knowledgeable in the field of sports injuries. He is in the fortunate position to be able to provide detailed first hand knowledge of the chiropractic management of extremity problems, particularly those of a sporting nature via his role as a team chiropractor for many sporting teams.
Henry’s presentations are extremely informative and should not be missed.

Sydney Seminar
September 7th 2002
Mr Martin Richardson, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Dr Sharyn Eaton, Chiropractor are the two guest speakers for the Sydney September seminar.
Martin Richardson is an orthopaedic surgeon who is currently practicing in Melbourne where he works in conjunction with COCA patron Mr. David de la Harpe. He has a strong interest in extremity disorders as well as paediatric orthopaedics. Mr. Richardson is also a research fellow who has published and presented widely. He has published in Bone, Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery and Modern Medicine. Mr. Richardson will provide an informative view of the upper limb with particular emphasis on the diagnosis of common orthopaedic conditions, their imaging and management, with particular emphasis on the criteria for chiropractors and osteopaths to refer for an orthopaedic opinion. Mr. Richardson’s presentations to COCA in the past have been widely acclaimed, and this should be no exception.
Our other speaker is well known to many in NSW, Dr Sharyn Eaton who is currently the editor of the COCA journal, Australasian Chiropractic & Osteopathy and lecturer at Macquarie University is presenting on Thoracic Spine Rehabilitation – An Alternative Perspective. Dr Eaton will address the diagnosis and management of various thoracic spine conditions, along with identifying some of the red flag conditions. She will also outline the management, and in particular outline innovative rehabilitation methods for this region.
